Andrea Smith - Conquest: Sexual Violence and American Indian Genocide We are reading this in my WGS seminar class right now. This book should be required reading for anyone interested in social justice issues— it talks about colonialism, eugenics, environmental racism, medical testing without consent, violence, the legal system, objectification, and sexual violence. It also critiques White Women’s Feminism as overly reliant upon patriarchal structures, such as courts or government medical services. It’s both horrifyingly depressing and enlightening. Andrea Smith is coming to speak at my school also. And my class is having a class discussion and then dinner with her later this semester. :)
