From One Survivor to Another

berryfemme asked: if that is the case, can't people use different language? pro ana literally means in favour of anorexia, whether it has evolved to mean something else (which i personally am doubtful having browsed many pro ana sites with disclaimers such as 'we do not promote anorexia!' followed by pages full of starvation tips, 'motivational' quotes and thinspo) or not. so surely it would be the obvious first step to remove blogs that identify themselves as pro ana?

That’s a good point, but i think in practice it becomes very grey and unstable in terms of definitions. Like, as the person in that previous post said, they found a lot of support and comfort and help in those “pro” places, as I have too. So it’s…not always so simple to just go by the label.
