Man I don’t know watching the announcements following the Sandusky verdict is kinda skeeving me out

Rowdy cheering doesn’t really strike me as an appropriate response to announcements that like 50 kids have been sexually assaulted.  I realize it’s a response to putting away the culprit rather than the crime but

generally celebration regarding sentencing is kind of weird to me, but i have LAW FEELS. i can understand relief or gratitude or any number of positive feelings relating to the verdict but uh, the cheering is wwweird.

Everything at Penn State involves rowdiness or rioting

Win a game? rowdy cheering

Lose a game? riot

JoePa rightfully fired? riot

if i was one of those people who testified i’d be like

“wtf stop that i am fucking sick of having so much attention focused on me i just want to be a normal person”

or

“stop giving this terrible person so much attention”

because people like that should just be forgotten. they dont deserve to be remembered. you can remember what they did and the people they hurt, but their name should just be…erased completely. no one should ever visit them. no one should hurl abuse at them. just total silence and darkness. that is so much worse and more deserved.
